My Story

is a one of a humble beginning.  I am from Richmond, Va. born and raised.  I served in the United States Army and after being deployed to Iraq i decided to get out while the getting was good.  It's important to know that afterwards i struggled with PTSD.  The nightmares, the mood swings and everything that comes with adjusting to not being in an active warzone.  Through a combination of therapy sessions, journaling and life events i noticed that no matter how bad my nightmares got or how many of them i had none of them involved dogs.  I've always had a love for dogs.  Bia the one in the photo i raised from a pup during a period of my life that was an emotional rollercoaster.  Between the loss of my grandmother who at the time was my only connection to a world that left me behind, my grandfather who always gave me the chance to prove i could do anything and Covid i was a mess.  However, i was always able to get it together to help take care of my dog or family members dogs.  i was then introduced to an app called Rover where i could care for people's dogs whether it's by watching them for the day, overnight or just dropping in and taking them for a walk.  I was not only helping people with their dogs their dogs were helping me so i dove head first into the business of Dog Services.  I knew what i wanted but, wasn't quite sure of what that looked like.  The apps were  and are great for being introduced to people who need my help but, when WAG got sued for their overcharging i wanted to create something different.  So here i am inspired by my dog Bia, my grandmother who dedicated her life to running a daycare for kids and my grandfather who was never afraid to make me work with a service that i can provide for people.  Paaw House is named after Palmer Anderson and Alice Winston my grandparents.  Snickers was taught by Bia the social cues needed for a dog to be able to operate as the Alpha of a pack before she passed away at 10 years old.  I've been described as everything from a Dog Whisperer to the neighborhood dog guy.  In the end I'm just a man who's found a way to do what he loves which is being surround by Dogs all day everyday.  The way i see it...  If you take a trip and you left your dog with me so you can take that trip then i went on the trip too.  Those facility settings isn't for everyone's dog.  There's a clear gap that needs filling and i'm here to fill it the best i can.  I know i am taking a risk by not using ChatGPT or some other A.I function to make this sound professional or look super formal.  However, if you've made it this far you know that you are dealing with a real person and when it comes to choosing someone to take care of your fur baby knowing who you leaving your pup with is the most important thing.
